The Friends of Bowker Creek invite you to a community event on August 12th, 1:00-4:00 pm, at Kings Community Nature Space to celebrate the Bowker Creek Biodiversity Corridor.
Did you know that Bowker Creek flows almost 10 kilometers through Saanich, Victoria and Oak Bay? Urban development has buried much of the channel as a storm sewer.
We envision a living stream that supports a biodiversity corridor from the creek’s source to the sea: a corridor of urban forest, active transportation, adaptation to climate change, and natural beauty and wellness, all at the heart of urban density.
For those of you who would like School District 61 trustees to follow the rules set out by our provincial government for land disposal, the history on this subject may be of interest.
