Saanich Report On Chickens

Saanich has recently completed a report on keeping chickens in an urban setting, a practice not currently allowed for lot sizes under 1,114.8 square meters (12,000 square feet). The study recommends option 4, to permit the keeping of up to five chickens on single family lots with an area of no less than 560 square meters.

The CCA endorses this proposal, but encourages removing the restrictive minimum lot size as it would disqualify the majority of the residential lots in our neighbourhood.
