The Friends of Bowker Creek have an ambitious agenda for 2023 that builds on the successes of 2022. Please take some time to read their January newsletter and consider contributing in whatever way you can to enhancing this urban stream passing through our community.
… with the support of the PSS, we have embarked on a 1000 Rain Gardens Project, helping to dig and plant two rain gardens at elementary schools in 2022, and looking forward to helping with a rain garden project at a church in the nearby Cecilia Creek watershed this year. Partnerships like these and others such as: UVic’s Living Labs, the Goldstream Fish Hatchery, the Studio 106 art fundraiser, and Green Island Builders help building the fence at Monteith are essential to the expanding watershed restoration work. The FoBC will continue to build on these partnerships and welcome new collaborative opportunities in 2023.
