VHS quits purchase of Richmond school land

As reported by Victoria News, the Victoria Hospice Society (VHS) has withdrawn its proposal to purchase most of the the southwest section of the School District 61 (SD61) property that currently accommodates the Lansdowne Middle School south campus and is bisected by Bowker Creek.

The VicNews article appears to largely repeat what is stated on the VHS “Our Future” page.

“After careful consideration, we have determined that the Richmond Road site is not the right location for our new facility,” board chair Trudi Brown said in a statement. “We appreciate the input we have received from the community that helped us reach this decision and we remain committed to finding a new location where we can continue to offer compassionate end-of-life care.”
