The Camosun Community Association invites 12 participants to attend a Saanich Community Tree Inventory Workshop taking place at Browning Park on November 8th, 2025.

This session is an invitation-only group, accommodating up to 12 participants, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Spaces are limited.

Learning outcomes from this 3-hour workshop will support participants in gathering accurate urban tree measurements and geolocating trees with relative precision, even in the absence of a field professional.

Saanich Community Tree Inventory Workshop Outline

1. Tree Inventory Overview: What is the utility of an inventory? What information is needed? How do professionals collect information? And how does the information collected benefit others?
2. The Saanich Tree Inventory Data Collection Approach.
3. Introduction to the geolocation of trees.
4. Introduction to tree measurements.
5. Practice in teams to geolocate and measure the trees in the park.
