Your Camosun Community Association has coordinated with
- Mt. Tolmie Community Association
- Quadra Cedar-Hill Community Association, and
- the Camosun College Student Society
to co-host an All Candidates Meeting for the upcoming municipal elections. We invite you to attend and participate.
The Meeting will consist of two sessions:
- the first session will be for candidates running for the position of Mayor, and
- the second session will be for candidates running for a position on Saanich Council.
The sessions will be moderated by Alan Perry, past news reporter and news director.
This meeting is intended to be innovative and different from the usual debates. This is the first time questions will be formulated largely from the floor within the following specific themes:
- Sewage & waste water management
- Food Security
- Infrastructure renewal & expansion
- Transit, transportation, bus & LRT
- Municipal governance – position of mayor in case of tie
- Role of the Community Associations in municipal governance
- Financing of major works and services, and taxation
- Parks and Recreation (local or regional)
- Shelbourne Valley (Corridor)
Candidates are encouraged to clearly show their position and intent on these topics.
There will be time for questions from the floor.
